Section 3: Search Strategies

Reading a Journal Title Record

When looking at a journal title record, look for the following:

  • Does AU own the journal?
  • Does AU own the correct volume / issue of the journal?
  • Is there more than one record, representing different dates?
  • What format is the journal in? (e.g. print or microform)
  • Is the volume listed in the recent volumes?
  • If AU does not own the journal or the correct issues, ask at the reference desk. You can get the article from another library.
