Kodak executives responded to the growing presence of Fuji Film in the European and American marketplace by challenging their Japanese competitor in Japan. The eight managers who flew to Africa to take part in it called it one of the most difficult things they ever did. In this program, McGill University's Nancy Adler, professor of organizational behavior and cross-cultural management, pulls no punches as she analyzes the performance of the multicultural management team from It's a Jungle Out There. Looks at the shared history and goals of the European Union and the United States as well as the tensions that sometimes arise between the world's two giant trading powers. U.S. influence on Russian economy. 1/2 in. West Lafeyette, IN. Discussion of the transition of the Russian economy to capitalism from communism. Members of the Russian Duma and various U.S. experts discuss Russia's efforts to create a market economy supported by banks and other financial institutions, regulatory agencies, and convertible currency and also to enter into the world financial markets. Problems in the Russian economy are discussed especially the rise of organized crime and the crime of money laundering that affects not only Russia but other countries as well. Members of the Duma discuss the recent passage of a law designed to fight money laundering and stem capital flight out of Russia. Also discussed are policies that should be adopted by the U.S. and Russia to improve economic conditions and to better regulate the business practices of private companies. VHS 5575
