This segment looks at Fiji which, since the armed coup in 1987, has become a cauldron of ethnic persecution and human rights abuses. Male authority in Pacific culture is so deeply entrenched that women have no power to say "no" to sexual exploitation. Portrayed as a man with idealistic intentions, film explores his life as a guerilla, his relationship with Tania, his betrayal by local peasants, his battles with asthma, and his distress at the death of his comrades.
