  • National Archives and Records Administration JFK Assassination Records Collection Reference System
    The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) created this database in response to a mandate from Congress following the controversy over the Oliver Stone movie JFK, which raised new questions about a possible conspiracy and led to many inquiries from the general public. The JFK database contains documents relating to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Some documents relating to the assassination are still under review by certain agencies or have been postponed from disclosure. Updates to NARA's database are made as agencies complete their reviews and transfer newly opened records to NARA.
  • National Archives and Records Administration Archival Information Locator (NAIL)
    NAIL is a database of descriptions of textual records, still pictures, film, video, and sound data collected over 60 years by various federal agencies. The database is updated weekly and contains thousands of items including: maps, charts and other documents that trace America's expansion westward and the Native American cultures, select sound files, including audio excerpts of interviews with the last surviving Confederate veteran and a former slave.

    Created by Karen Fung for the Electronic Technology Group of the African Studies Association, this site has many useful links to African countries and history.
  • Ancient Near East and the Mediterranean World
    Hosted by the University of Chicago library, this site has digital files of deteriorated research materials relating to the history, art and archaeology of the ancient Near East and the ancient Mediterranean world. Materials published between 1850 and 1950 were drawn from the Library's Ancient Near East and Classics Collections.
