by Farhad Manjoo

John Wiley & Sons

Farhad Manjoo is the author of True Enough: Learning to Live in Post-Fact Society, which argues that modern communications technology has led to the cultural ascendance of belief over fact. Drawing on volumes of research in psychology and economics, Manjoo shows how the Web, talk radio, and cable TV have fragmented our national discussions -- and that now, our primary disagreements are over facts, not opinions. Manjoo is a staff writer for Slate Magazine, where he writes frequently about technology, the media, and politics. Prior to Slate, he wrote for Salon and Wired; he also writes frequently for The New York Times. Manjoo graduated from Cornell University in 2000. While there, he spent most of his time working at the Cornell Daily Sun, the college daily; he edited the paper during his senior year. Manjoo, who was born in South Africa, immigrated to the U.S. with his family in the late 1980s. He now lives in San Francisco.
