AU Library

Request Books from Another Library

If you have found a book you want and either:

  • AU does not own a copy
  • AU's copy is checked out
  • AU's copy is lost

THEN you can request the book from another library

Consortium Loan Service (CLS)

  1. Go to the ALADIN catalog
  2. Search for the book
  3. If the book is not available at AU but is available elsewhere, click on the record
  4. Click on the yellow post-it-note-like link.
  5. Login (family name, AU ID, select AU as your institution)
  6. Leave all the fields blank except the box near the bottom that asks for your AU ID. Fill that in.
  7. Click Submit Request
  8. The book will arrive at the AU Circ desk within 3-5 business days. You will receive an email informing you it is in.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

If neither AU nor any WRLC school has the book, you can request it through Interlibrary Loan.

You will need the book citation information to order.

  1. Go to the Interlibrary Loan system
  2. Login using your AU ID number and last name (the last name is case sensitive...if it doesn't work using all lower case, try beginning with a capital).
  3. Click Request a Book
  4. Enter all the citation information you have (title, author, date)
  5. Click Submit
