Laserdiscs
By
the end of 1999, nearly all producers of laserdiscs
had ceased production, having been overwhelmed
by the DVD format. In November 1999, Media Services
ceased collecting in the laserdisc format. Media Services has duplicated a great deal of the laserdisc collection in the DVD format and has shipped the major of the laserdiscs to off-site storage. These discs are available by request.
Media Services maintains several laserdisc players
on-site for those interested in viewing.
