The American University Research Commons is a repository for scholarly works, teaching tools and other literature produced by the American University (AU) community. Contents include articles, conference presentations, working papers, online journals and newsletters, syllabi, and podcasts.

The American University Research Commons runs on the DSpace platform, hosted at the Washington Research Library Consortium. The Content Areas column on the left gives the user direct access to selected sections of the site.

Submit Your Research
American University faculty and students are encouraged to submit working papers, conference presentations, research reports, article preprints and reprints, and other works for inclusion in the Research Commons. We will assist in checking publisher policies and restrictions before posting previously published works.  If interested, please contact , Research Commons Coordinator.

ArXiv - arXiv is an archive of electronic preprints in the fields of physics, mathematics, non-linear science, computer science, quantitative biology and statistics. The contents of arXiv conform to Cornell University academic standards. arXiv is owned, operated and funded by Cornell University and is also partially funded by the National Science Foundation.

OAIster - a union catalog of digital resources from international contributors including American University. As of Spring 2009, OAIster provided access to over 21 million records from over 1,100 depositories.

Registry of Open Access Repositories (ROAR)

ScientificCommons - a project of University of St. Gallen (Switzerland) Institute for Media and Communications Management. The goal of the project is to create the world's largest archive of open access scientific scholarship. American University Research Commons content is harvested by this site.

SHERPA RoMEO - a website that provides a summary of the copyright and self-archiving policies of publishers worldwide. As of may 2009, it listed 600 publisher policies on self-archiving.
