Hardware Resources


Assistive Technology Resources

Three assistive technology workstations are available in the Anderson Computing Complex. The workstations are located in B10, B12, B13 and are height adjustable. The workstations in B10 and B12 are attached to scanners. The workstation in B10 is also connected to a Braille printer. All three workstations include the following software:

  • Duxbury (Braille translation software)
  • Open Book (Scanning software and speech)
  • Window Eyes (Screen reader)
  • WYNN (Scanning program for students with learning challenges)
  • Zoomtext (Screen magnification software)
  • Naturally Speaking (Speech recognition software)
  • Jaws for Windows

Four PC scanners and one Macintosh scanner are available in the Anderson Computing Complex.

High Density Storage Devices

Zip drives are available on all Macintosh computers and on selected PCs within the Anderson Computing Complex.

Webcams are available at two computers in room B-10 (open area). Head sets are also available for loan. Please see an STC for assistance.

Classroom Descriptions and Restrictions

All classrooms consist of Dell computers with the following specifications: Pentium 3 Processors, 20 Gigabyte Hard Drives and 256 MB RAM. Mac computer specifications are listed below.

Pentium 4, 2.6 GHz Processors, 40 Gigabyte Hard Drives and 512 MB RAM, DVD/CD-RW, 17" LCD Monitors
