Identifying Reserve Materials

To find call numbers for reserve materials, use Reserve Module in ALADIN, the online system.

In the WRLC Libraries Catalog, choose the Course Reserve tab under the Search menu. Use the pull-down arrow to choose the instructor's name and/or course number and click Do Search.

The instructor's course reserve materials will be displayed alphabetically by title. To find the call number of a title, double-click on the selected item.

Using Reserves

Patrons must have a valid AU Student ID or an ID from a WRLC university in order to check out reserve materials.

Reserve items must be returned directly to the reserve desk. Items not returned to the desk are subject to overdue fines.

Access to reserve materials is provided on a first come, first serve basis. Desk attendants cannot take reservations or hold materials.

Loan Periods

There are three loan periods used by reserves, which are designated by the instructor: two-hour reserve, one-day reserve, three-day reserve.

One-day and Three-day Loans:
These materials may leave the library and are must be returned before the reserve desk closes on the day the materials are due. A Maximum of two items may be checked out at a time.

There is a 30-minute waiting period to renew one- and three-day materials.

Two-hour Loans:
These materials may leave the library unless otherwise requested by the instructor. Overnight checkout is available for two-hour materials beginning 45 minutes before closing. Up to two items may be checked out at that time. Overnight checkout materials are due the following morning promptly at opening and may be left in the overnight book drop.

There is a 15-minute waiting period to renew two-hour materials.

Reserve Fines

Two- and Three-day Loans: $1.00 per day
Two-hour Loans: $3.00 per hour prorated at $.05 per minute

Patrons with overdue reserve materials and/or more than $25.00 in library fines will not be able to access reserve materials.
