COLLECTION:
The Music Library, established in 1966, is a branch of the University Library. In 2005, the library was moved into the new Katzen Art Center. The library provides a music collection of over 15,000 scores and sheet music, 4,000 compact discs, 28,000 LP recordings, and selected reference works. Holdings represent a broad spectrum of subjects, periods, and styles that include classical music, world music, theater music, jazz and blues and popular music. Although holdings reflect an emphasis on AU academic programs in music, the Music Library also provides materials for the educational and recreational needs of the entire campus and community.
LISTENING FACILITIES:
Individual and small group listening stations are available for analog and digital formats including compact disc, LP, cassette, reel to reel, and streaming. Although the music library provides sound recording equipment compatible with various formats, the library will not offer duplication or reproduction services which do not comply with U.S. copyright laws.
OTHER SERVICES:
Music Purchase Request Form - AU faculty, staff and students are encouraged to request Music/CD purchase.
Photocopy machine is available. The University Library complies with U.S. copyright laws.
