Collection Development: Gifts Program
home - about - forms - collection management
The American University Library welcomes and appreciates contributions of gifts-in-kind. Donors of books and other materials strengthen collections that support the teaching and research activities of the university.
Any book the library accepts becomes the property of American University Library. The library reserves the right to retain the gift, to determine how it will be cataloged, and where it shall be housed. Books the library cannot use may be distributed to other libraries in the United States or overseas. The library acknowledges the donation of gifts-in-kind by letter. The library is prohibited from appraising the dollar value of any donated book.
